The Winner: Rehabilitation of the National Railway System & Logistics Centers, Costa Rica Engineering: The project that best shows the glory of Latin American engineering, and that best creates a project that will provide 20-30 years of competitiveness to its country or region. The winning project, and its sponsors, will have engineered a project that is a model for the next generation.
The Winner: Chicontepec Oil Fields, Mexico Finance: The project that leads the way in terms of sustainable financing going forward, particularly in light of the severity and longevity of the financial crisis. The price will be awarded to the project that has been able to best channel multi-source funding into its structure, creating a replicable model for the region.

Water / Wastewater: The project that promises a new level of leadership in terms of the design and / or financing of water/wastewater projects in Latin America. The region is currently in a financing crisis for the sector. The winning project, and its sponsors, will have designed a project that will guide the way forward.
