“Super Port Açu” is the largest private port project in construction in Brazil. Located in São João da Barra (Rio de Janeiro State) the construction site was initiated in October 2007. With a USD 1.6 billion CAPEX, this mixed use private port terminal and industrial complex will cover a total area of 7.8 thousand hectares, with 18.5 meters depth and an offshore structure of up to 10 berths for the handling of products such as iron ore, steel products, coal, liquid bulk and general cargo. Based on the modern port-industry concept, Açu Industrial complex will be the preferred destination for heavy industries and will handle almost 100 million tons of products per year.
