Strategy Consulting
We identify breakthrough strategies for decision-makers – CEO’s, heads of state, public policy leaders, anyone who wants to think clearly about the infrastructure market (engineering firms, investment banks, hedge funds) ramp up organizational performance (investment promotion units, government ministries), identify strategic infrastructure projects (firms, governments), and get strategic projects financed (the best firms, and the leading countries in the world). Tools include: a knowledge system with more than 75,000 key decision-maker records, more than 2,500 strategic project records, and 1,500 leading company records; a proprietary diagnostic system that allows you to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses, and directly calculate and influence risk; and a Rankings System of infrastructure capacity globally.

Project Strategy Assignments:

Market Entry - Creation of a rich market picture of the global marketplace for a new concept in potable water treatment. Our client is a highly innovative multinational company. Through this project we identified key regions for initial focus, countries in those regions for priority action, and strategic direction within those markets.

Business Expansion
- Creation of a strategic picture of the Mexican, Brazilian and Peruvian market for a product company interested in expanding into the service business. Consolidated and evaluated the opportunities within the service market, especially in terms of product differentiation, innovative value creation and the strategic deployment of finance.

Business Expansion
- Assessment of feasibility of natural gas markets in the southern cone of Latin America for a major gas distribution company with expansion plans. Including a competitive evaluation of competing gas pipeline projects and strategic evaluation of off-takers and forecasts to establish geographic priorities and market entry strategies.

Market Transformation
- Survey of 505 water company decision-makers in Latin America to understand the ‘barriers to investment’ – the main issues that they face in the expansion of water and wastewater services. This has lead to the identification of new market opportunities, as well as to new (and imaginative) policy approaches.

CG/LA seeks to produce measurable results in key business metrics (market expansion, margin creation) and in critical 'invisible' areas like unit cohesiveness, clarity of focus, 'rich' network creation and other quality issues that emerge from successful business prosecution (hitting the numbers, the BIG numbers).
